You get it. I agree with everything you said, however I think that so-called ’surf culture’ and surf media place an emphasis on being exploited; i.e. buying the newest, most useless products, whereas religions are only capable of exploiting idiots. To me, surfing is different, and I become (mildly) upset when nonsurfers use this image to promote their products, at the expense of lineups across the globe being infiltrated by those seeking to fulfill their dreams of surf stardom. Good response!

I don’t think the video was supposed to be a pound-for-pound comparison between the two. People just surf like it’s their religion because they get the same rush, a divine-like rush. And you make it seem like surfing is exploited for money and religion isn’t, but religion,in my mind, is one of the most exploited things in out society. Ex. Benny Hinn, anyone with a head on their shoulders knows he’s full of shit…. and he’s worst than stickers and overpriced boardshorts…..

So…I come back from a week Bali and see this crap!? Yes, I am gay (bisexual). What does that have do with anything I said? I’ll have you know I just gotten done surfing waves you wouldn’t even consider riding much less be permitted to have. I’ve turned down better looking women than you’ve ever seen (I imagine, I really don’t know you). I am a male model in Manhattan and I have a master’s degree in Economics.
