The education and empowerment of women results in smaller family sizes, stabilization of population numbers, and a decline in population in the long run (100+ years). This education includes programs to spread knowledge of birth control methods and availability of same. Instead we have stuck our heads in the sand circa 2001-2009 by cutting all international family planning aid to developing countries and worsened the problem.
