Well, you must be an American then because your comment is incredibly ignorant. Your comment hints at the fact that Americans must be genetically less intelligent than other nationalities without taking into account the environmental influences that condition and indoctrinate them into being who they are. Which any race of humans would be victim to given the same conditioning. So in a sense they are “uneducated,” but aren’t necessarily to blame. YOUR comment is stupid and causes more division.

The world has always been a battle of control vs Spirit. These myths play out in reality.
If anyone is interested in this and how it all plays out, please read Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces, and his acclaimed discovery of the ‘Monomyth’.

“I don’t know what people’s motives are hardly ever. And I don’t much worry about people’s motives.”

I’m not sure if that statement is more sad than it is frightening. These are the people who determine policies that literally murder tens of thousands of people? These are the guys who say how many humans, paid for by your and my tax dollars, can be murdered at a time?

    God help us.

    Peace.

There are, as with all interpretations of “history”, large gaps in what is being told. The only way to get a clearer idea is to examine it from as many angles as possible. This means taking different interpretations and comparing them. This is one interpretation of what happened. What other interpretations are there and how do they compare against each other? There is no way of knowing absolutely what happened, but you can get damned close if you search long and hard enough.

That is fucking outstanding. Rumsfeld would, decades later, say the exact same thing: “There are known knowns, known unknowns and unknown unknowns.” His argument for the invisible subs is exactly the same as his argument for invading Iraq. Isn’t it funny how these things line up in hindsight? Isn’t it also hilarious that the corporate news, with teams of paid researchers, never brought any of this up?

Good luck to us. These guys are still in power – yes, with Obama, they’re still influential.

Don’t you see? That’s half the problem with it. I’m not saying Islam is bad, because people should be able to have any religious belief they want… The problem is that everyone tries to export their own beliefs onto everyone else. That’s the problem with the US. They try to impose their politics onto the rest of the world. But as corruption, it can happen anywhere, anytime. The fact that people are followers of Islam doesn’t change a thing.

I thought the CIA staged a coup against Sadat?

The world is a scarey place, but at least Arrested Development is on BBC2 next.

It was mostly the people vs the system. As with Islam, things are quite different. Even here in the West, Muslim women get murdered by their family because they want to marry a man they’re in love with, not with their daddy’s choice. Women coolly give up their daughters for the sake of their family’s “honor”. In Islamic schools, children are brainwashed with hate. The point of this doc is pretty much true for the Cold War, but much less for the current problem with Islam.

I have a problem with this documentary comparing the USSR to the Islamic world. The Russians had a completely different relation to Communism than the Muslims have to Islam. People lived under C. yet it somehow went past them. They were not fanatic Commies and didn’t hate the West, they envied it for its freedom and prosperity. Compared to Islam, their lives were pretty Western. People chose their spouses themselves, women had equal rights to men and were not murdered for adultery etc.

Definitely terror is the new tool of the governments, just as its happening right now in Mexico.

I don’t see any explanation on Zawaheri’s association with Qotob!!?? This documentary itself is based on fiction and myth. The degree of assumptions in the whole documentary outweighs the facts and proofs. I don’t know about everyone else, but I am gonna stop watching this documentary right here :)

One of the few times I have ever seen the CIA portrayed in a positive light. Very interesting and eye opening.
