schwester, not bruder :) . i think that europeans finally had enough of war. i mean for the most part you guys spent the better part of recorded time, stomping all over the place, killing each other. after ww2, y’all basically said ‘enough’. the stuff in the former yugoslavia not withstanding. and in america, we sit here, kind of set apart and separated. we haven’t really had but two wars on our own soil. so maybe we don’t get it. peace.

Jawoll, Frieden Bruder ;O) Yes, peace brother. Now 100 years later our country´s life for a long time in peace. War is only a suggestion that politician told us. So let´s hope that we´ll more wiser than our grandparents. No more wars!Power to the people. Love & Peace from Germany!!!

Wars are pushed by weapon manufactures or political leaders who invest in things such as weapons, oil. Everytime a war starts two things should happen. 1. Weapon Manufactures profit should be limited. 2. The solders should vote on both sides weather or not they should go to war.

Not some asshole sitting in a sit way high up who will never pick up a gun and shoot it, but just stand there and count his profit. WW1 and WW2 could have been avioded just like every other war.

i didnt say that russians didnt releve the British i asked HOW they could have relieved each other, and IF they did and what you say is true then the russians releving the British ended A truce not the whole truce

  6. tranurseon 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

the germans laughed at the scots, who had on their kilts…… they drank beer, shared food, the catholics on both sides had mass together and had a good time. proof that wars are b/n politicians and not people.

  7. spyderpaintball95on 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

Okay chief im not on the fact of how long the trench system is or how long the truce’s lasted you just said that the Russians didn’t relive the British when in fact they did it ended the longest Christmas truce between the Germans and British

  8. BenHughesLlanon 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

you do know there was more that one christmas truce, the western front trench systems spanned 600 miles theres was quite a few truce’s, some only lasted a day other lasted until new year

  9. spyderpaintball95on 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

Because only part of the Russian army were fighting on the eastern front (not the whole army) the British had fought at that spot for several months in a trench and on new years day 1915 the Russians relieved the British of their post so the Christmas truce lasted several days all the way up until new years

  10. BenHughesLlanon 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

BTW the Russians were fighting on the eastern front, the British were fighting on the western front so how could the russians revieve the british when they were hundreds of miles apart?

  11. BenHughesLlanon 31 Dec 2009 at 7:58 pm

i dont know why people are argueing about when the christmas truce ended, your all right (well most of you) the trench systems on the western front stretched 600 miles from the english channel to the swiss border, there was numerous truce’s in some areas the truce only lasted 1 day in others the truce lasted until january 1st 1915

It’s not meant to be his twin brother – it’s giving the message that the men on each side weren’t that different.

It’s weird enough for US, though – what IS that thing living on Paul’s twin’s lip? Is it a cat or a moustache?!
