    Gandhi secured India’s independence.
MLK secured civil rights in America.
And John was shot as well,
But not before touching our hearts and minds.

I love John Lennon… but ” Ghandi tried it and Martin Luther Kind tried it, but they were shot…” Sorry John…

beatnik trend started in the 1950′s and that is before the Beatles.

The hippie movement comes from Albert E=MC2 and that is from the 1910′s-20′s.

I was a Beatle fan before they came to America.

you will be when you die!

Timothy Leary-illegal drug experimentation, Eastern culture, meditation influence, bold hair/clothing styles and a rising tide of baby-boomers at draft/college age that explored new ideas fueling the modern western social awakening/revolution.

The Beatles helped start the beatnik trend in the early 1960′s, but the “hippie culture trend” credit probably goes to many people. First, the Grateful Dead others in Haight/Asbury neighborhood of San Francisco, also Greenwich Village (NYC), East end of London had many artists/musicians, eccentric near- societal outcasts that pushed the envelope of the anti-Vietnam War counter-culture movement in the mid-late 1960′s. 21. Keepitgreasy11on 06 Nov 2009 at 12:00 pm

the fate of his life was the same too bad that he’s no longer around but his speech and lyrics can be sent out now

  22. busterboneon 06 Nov 2009 at 12:00 pm

Let’s get out of Iraq and Afghanistan before more soldiers die. “Hippies” were right, then and now. Honor the veteran’s courage and memory always, but end the bloodshed and “spread love, not hate” starting here in the states and western world. Vietnam cost 58,000 American lives a million Asians and now it is a Communist run country. Freedom cannot always be exported, unfortunately. Let’s take care of the imperfect homeland first! Peace-John Lennon’s beautiful human, compassionate spirit lives

Easy Word But Is Really Difficult To Practice¿¿??
    We Must Do It Together
And One Day Finally, We’ll Be In Peace

That free hugs guy is a good start.

Its not easy. I think John was smart.
oh and With that additude, do you really want people to be happy and love eachother? What’s eating you up inside?
