    Re the term Atheist Messiah for Hitchens (so you don’t have to look it up) – “Totally dude I was being sarcastic :)

    ok, cool

    Wow that guy at 2:25 looks pissed, I mean really pissed, that Hitchens could question his delusions. You can see the hate emitting from every pore on his body, which is just what Jesus wanted christians to do. I know, I know; Jesus said “love your brother no matter what” but real christians know that he was saying that sarcastically and he really meant that you should hate anyone who thinks differently than you and threaten to kill them if they ever question your unconditionally loving god.

    If Nazism is wrong, why do those dumb Allied nations fight against it? It just doesn’t make sense. If racism is wrong, then why do people talk about it? I just can’t understand it.

    I actually think you can see him clap once just as the angle chances at the end – but other than that you’re right of course :)

    i dont think he cared about the answer either he just had to do his little christian bit..

    Notice the last guy to ask his loaded question to Hitch doesnt clap at the end of the reply.Know why?Because he is a typical angry christian. They have no depth,manners or compassion for others.Its all a show and this show is all about them.

    totally dude i was being sarcastic :)

  11. queenastilonon 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    As usual, Chris Hitchens puts it clearly and succinctly.

  12. queenastilonon 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    Exactly, but I’m a little uncomfortable with the title athiest messiah, as I think he would be too. :)

    kamili, you contend that those who kill are not followers of Jesus. But the elders of the catholic church, assumed by many to be knowledgeable about the bible, decided that killing, usually torturing and/or killing by means of torture, is exactly the right thing to do

    Your neighbour’s heretic beliefs, or lack of them, are literally endangering your family’s immortal souls, so you have to denounce them! In 13th century, YOU would be subject to this for your heretical statements here

    The hell stuff was man made, yes; reportedly the man was called Joshua bar Joseph, aka Jesus Christ.

  16. Rockster969on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    oh yes it does and you know it

  17. solitarytraveler19on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    possibly his views on the Iraq war and Afghanistan could be considered right-wing

  18. Melvin6566842on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    Which of his opinions are right-wing? Just asking.

  19. Mayer200on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    On the issue of Religion and its dangers, I am in whole hearted agreement with Christopher Hitchens, although I do not favour his right wing political opinions.

    DemokritosAbdera… Just cuz ppl do it doesnt mean islam aproves of it. And the hadith that talks about apositsy in historical content. It talks about when ppl “converted” to islam to find out what there strategies and would go back to the tribe of pagens or whatever and tell them what the muslim planned. No were in the quran does it talk about punishment for someone that leaves islam.

    @Doug, so you admit, there are intelligent scientists who are theists. Lastly Doug, we fundamentally disagree on almost everything. Lets just leave it at that unless you want to take it to private messages. I despise being on front street. I am, believe it or not, not real out going and I get other replies from nuts, not you or I would not talk to you. But if you would like to keep this going, and I actually would not mind myself, I do want to take it off this forum.

    @Kamili
    Last thing kamili, did you ever think that also THROUGH science we know that we are affecting oceans and all which you speak of? Becuase of science we now know these things, science is a progressive field where we look 2 alternatves now like ehtanol and hybirds, at that time we did not know this and not all technology is made by athiests…lol, ur arguement is funny to think about it :)

  23. Dougca1985on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    @kamili1950
    Now your statement is pure fallacy from the begining…the reason is cuz you are attributing a group of ppl from all technology…technology, such as cars are more engineering base and less so to do with an applied science, but you are generalizing, henry ford was an episcopolitan christian, some of the weapons you speak of have big political debates as well…not to sound rude but dont over generalize ppl…ok?

  24. Dougca1985on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    Norman Porythress, he sampled 234 different US college campuses and found that religous literal-believers were less intelligent than religous skeptics…the 2004 general social survey, according to raw data…those with more graduate degrees were less likely to beleive in an afterlife, make sense, more education, more skeptism, less belief…because you know more and think critically…know to address the other issue…

  25. Dougca1985on 18 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

    @kamili-most sites i have found online say that thier are about 43 different studies on I.Q. and intelligence raising with athiest. I mean franchis collins is definetly an outlier, another study was done in 137 different countries co-authored by richard lynn, university of ulster where studies showed a higher I.Q. in athiest students…another study was done by…
