0:23 take the case of the Qoran just for once, once he doesn’t have any other thing,it’s for the 25342543254 times, and discuss it with whom,a christian theologian

Islam and Christianity both being abrahamic faiths go hand in hand, As do Physics and Natural Sciences. A somewhat fair comparison this could be.

  4. Kenchelyon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

    Christian, specifically Lutheran.

Maybe it is because he is English?

    You poor fatalist.

“certainly the last thing that he would ever imply is that morality has some concrete factual objective position…”

That which can be presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

“Hitchens is simply advancing the case (and rightly so) that morality comes from us humans,”

Then we must snap out of the dream. Nature is neither intelligent nor does it design, It therefore is not capable of “moralness”
“Morality” is a relative term and if fact does not exist.

What are you talking about? If you have read anything by Hitchens, or better yet, if you had been paying attention to anything he says in many of his clips on you tube, certainly the last thing that he would ever imply is that morality has some concrete factual objective position…

Hitchens is simply advancing the case (and rightly so) that morality comes from us humans, and not from any deity as purported by numerous religions.

    You are misled.

    Which faith?

  11. Twicebakedtaterson 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

What I find curious is why Hitchens insists on such subjective positions as morality and it’s horribleness. As if there is some concrete factual objective position of morality to come from in the first place.

My faith has no bad teachings; it may have some teachings you don’t like. Not the same thing.

  13. automaticSOMon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

Hitchens has a wonderful grasp of the english language, it must be said

  14. Militarizedon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

Lol, you need to watch more videos. He said he’ll use the Quran “for once” because he normally picks examples out of the Bible, or other texts.

  15. elfred1980on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

Why? Judging it by its teachings is perfectly fair.

  16. cablepanoson 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

You have to in order to be a “believer”.

  17. simplic10on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

Your religion has no bad teachings?

  18. amairajaon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

@ Hitchens, just because you find some “evil” teaching among Muslims that does not mean all faiths/religion is like that.

Please stop using this kind of logic.

  19. Paramite84on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

LOL, this is possibly the weirdest comparison I’ve heard in a long time.

  20. HPaulQon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

All the comments of Christians are spammed and the world is thinking!

  21. HPaulQon 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

    Great Poem

  22. SoSaCA100on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

it’s weird that Hitchens discusses Islam with a Christian theologian that is like discussing physics with a natural scientist, although both are sciences .

  23. paulwilfridhunton 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

I have been looking closely at this Hitchens guy
and I am not going to say he tells a lie
But I thought I saw a fork tongue poking out
when Hannity pressed him he started to spout
Look I know he’s British and all that stuff
speaking so nicely but its just guff
I could listen to him till the cows come home
What a nice voice such a great tone
He could be sticking a knife in my gizzard
and get me to beieve that I was only a lizzard
    Hey buyer you beware
don’t you give this guy your ear

  24. SoSaCA100on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

so timetravelexperiment, spare me your stupid replies.

  25. SoSaCA100on 29 Nov 2009 at 3:41 pm

Well, I never Imagined in my life that I have to put forward an argument to explain that although by definition Islam is categorized under religion, it is absurd to discuss it with a christian theologian as it absurd to discuss physics with a natural scientist, although both are science.
