He’s got a point: The belief in God is faith, and in order to have faith you shall believe, not think. That’s why faith is never a good argument in any intelligent discussion.

I guess that’s more truth than false, if one had to pick sides. That’s how I figured it for the most part too. However, a tool can be used for good or evil, and religion could be defined as a personal faith in something. Interesting how we would have to define our terms and know when we are speaking of religion 1 or religion 2 in our dictionary. I guess most religions like other things get corrupt very quickly and end up as a wedge in our arsenal of persuasion tools.

Religion is a tool used to control people, and is nothing more than a rotten pack of lies and evil.

We cannot intellectualize GOD, we can only experience. Thats what all the sages and true teachers of the ages have said. How can we limit the Infinite by putting it in our mental box? GOD is direct experience (knowing), not reason.

I’m going to make a contoversial comment:

Religion as it’s dumped on us, by the teachers, is a line crap, made up by the clever for the soldiers, and great unwashed masses.

God spirit and goodness are quite another matter.

Oh, I’ve said too much. LOL

    Peace of course!

Religion is lost everyday, one more soul, giving up. These souls battle every day and every night. Their honesty is pure and innocent.

Yes I think we all do realize the Irony of Gregorian Chanters (“Monks”) singing about loosing their religion lol,
The phrase Losing My Religion is another way of saying getting angry.

I was referring more to the title itself than the actual song, but kudos to you for the smartass reply. I am amused. :-)

  21. EmperorLjason 01 Dec 2009 at 5:14 pm

Of course, the song isn’t actually about religion.
