Backsliding is a term created by the unsaved person to justify his continued sinful ways. It is true we are all susceptible to sin while in the flesh…..but a true child of God hates violating his laws. So if you know an individual who is constantly backsliding…..and it does not appear to be of any concern to this person…..they might be well advised to look at themselves much closer

  3. silverrose50on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

There is a difference between weakness and wickedness however.

  4. silverrose50on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

I see the message I received has been removed. Just getting into this argument is a sin so all I will say is: There is no such thing as a human being who is NOT a sinner and wretched. Christian or not we will always be sinners and only under Jesus does God view us as pure and without sin. Only The Lamb is pure.

Its not a happy thing that people are gonna die lost and suffer. I wouldnt wish that on nobody but the word of God is clear that while he is not willing that any should die lost there will be many that will.

The word of God is infallible and it does not change. You misinterpeting the scriptures to soothe your own concious about the hereafter does not change the fact that the lake of fire is eternal and all the lost will call it home for eternity…

  6. cloventongues85on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

So what happens to the unsaved? Because the bible clearly states they will be lost and torment in flames for eternity..

to say they are thrown in the fire and no longer exist contradicts the word of God because the bible says the will exist and they will feel the pain of thier torment for ever!

  7. Jacobresteron 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

It seems you left out Revelation 20:14

How can Hell be thrown into Hell and destroyed?

    2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

There shall be no more death and hell after the universe is destroyed by the Lake of Fire.

The new heavens and new earth are for the saved.

So, if I light up a cigarette or go out drinking, then my soul is still safe? What do you feel constitutes backsliding?
There never was such a thing as a sinning Christian. If you sin, then you are a sinner and need to repent immediately.

Before you try to correct fallacies you need to actually understand what you are reading… and your attitude is not of God!

read Gods word closer…Rev 20:13 and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev. 20:15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hell gives up the dead which are in it… they are judged and condemned to spend eternity in the lake of fire!

  10. cloventongues85on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

Yes there is a distinction between hell and the lake of fire… when sinners die they go to hell but on judgment day hell will give up its dead and they will be thrown into the lake of fire forever. Its in the lake of fire that one will spend eternity tormented… never escaping….NO where does the bible say the lake of fire will destroy the universe!!

  11. Jacobresteron 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

    Revelation 20 :14-15

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

How can you cast hell into hell ?

Hell and death shall be no more after they are cast into the Lake of Fire.

Read your bible more and you will discover the Lake of Fire is the fervent heat that will be used to destroy the univierse.

Any other church fallacies you want me to correct you on ?

  12. Jacobresteron 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

dude…….the Lake of Fire is NOT hell…..they are 2 seperate entities……HEll is the grave….the Lake of Fire is the final fervent heat that God uses to destroy this world and universe

  13. silverrose50on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

To say anything else, negates the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  14. silverrose50on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

The choice is Jesus not in how we live because no human being lives sin free so no human being can get themselves into heaven. The Bible clearly states that works are no more after Jesus came and died for our sins.

    Amen!!

  16. cloventongues85on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

Yes, the lake of fire is eternal and the bible clearly states that there will be no escape for sinners.. it is forever! Revelations scream it with a loud voice… Forever lost, No redemption

jacob you need to be careful what you call false doctrine. The bible clearly states that He is willing for all to come to repentance and None be lost.. so if he wants none lost.. why would he hand select…

before the foundation of the world… He chose us in HIS forknowledge of OUR CHOICE!

  17. nossfulon 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

I agree. You need to tell Jacobrester that. I think it would take about 5 different Bibles for me to piece together his idea of predestination and his belief that a sinner cannot burn in hell forever. How could someone believe something that deviates so far from the New Testament teachings that have so much to say about a horrible eternity for a sinner and free will? A first grader could read the Bible and understand that we have a choice and yes, there is an eternal lake of fire for sinners.

  18. cloventongues85on 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

It was predestinated in the fact that God in his foreknowledge of us knew the choice we would make and because of our choices the place we spend eternity. He did not choose for him but God knew in advance where we would choose to Go by the life that we lived… Even though he has foreknowledge God chooses not to interfere and he lets us have to free will to choose how we live! Your eternity is your choice!!

That’s an oppurtunity I’m sorry I never had.

  21. BigWoodyAllenon 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

Repent really means forgiving yourself for your failures and weaknesses. And regarding your place on Earth…it’s decided by YOU before you are born in aiding your spiritual growth.

I myself am not a big fan of Gospel music, but Elvis has the Midas touch, he makes everything sound good!

  25. nossfulon 22 Nov 2009 at 4:40 am

I said 6000 years because science and the Bible have a slight disagreement on the age of this universe which is to the tune of only about 4.5 billion years (minor details). So getting back to what matters…. you are saying that the salvation or damnation of Elvis was determined before the foundations of the earth? Are you saying that you believe God would predistine every person that ever lived to eternal life or death, heaven or hell, eternal joy or pain, before the foundations of the earth?
