maybe people took the old testament literally and thats why there was a need for the new testament.

I didn’t agree with Clinton or Bush, but God put them there. They each professed a belief in God and they mostly stood up to it. I was commanded to live by their rule. This guy professed his belief for the campaign and then dropped God like a hot potato after he was elected. He doesn’t follow God, I don’t follow him.

i half agree and half disagree. i disagree with obama because it seems that once a puristic society has set it’s foot in the ground that there should be an embrace of other beliefs which would violate our convictions. but i agree that the church should stay as far away from politics when it comes to making policies. the church ought to do what it does best which is influence, NOT enforce. so well said mr. president.

Excellent President Obama!! It’s about time!. We have been going backward and are finally moving forward.

The god of the bible in which Lot gives his virgin daughters to a mob to be raped then is later of drugged and raped by his daughters and david extorts food and goods out of honest workers on threat of harm now that is a great book get you kids to read about that or read isiah 43:17

God gives more love to all mankind than any person on this earth could ever possibly give…that is the God of the Bible

  9. kcrabberon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

He doesn’t know what he’s talking about…that’s why there’s the old testament and then the NEW testament…when the new testament came in to affect God said out with the old and in with the new…also some things obviously aren’t to be taken literally…such as parables and comparison type analogies…God is trying to show us and get through to us how bad some of these things that people do are in his eyes…its really not that hard to understand if you just try…God is not cruel……

  10. Rx7evenon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

This is very literal, but a most sensible comment (I give you a thumbs up). Its against his will, rather in accords with the will of God (almost a conundrum whose wrong convinces the henpecked different). You are so down to earth! I don’t agree at all with him because I have understanding of where things are headed.

2 peter 3:8 -but, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

    @ Shrivak
I don’t care what you claim, but don’t post baseless warrants to your claim. They should be specific and credible. Don’t be like the media to simple, easily influenced people.

  12. shadowslaya1on 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

… but admitted to its share of UNIVERSAL truth that commonly apply to all groups, which is a key point in the definition of a UNIVERSAL truth, which we should focus on.
FYI, your using religion to attack.

  13. shadowslaya1on 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

    @ hollarjay
You also can’t REASONABLY assume the rest are not dimes. This portrays individual perception which leads to and is influenced by differing schemas. Thus, you can actually take a verse of the Bible out of contexts. I call this personalizing literature. He just gave examples of literal faults in the Bible, to prove that it’s not inerrantly true universally…

  14. pakstar143on 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

Obama is not a reglious person at all.
He is a diplomat and so has diplomatic faith.

But I hope he won’t turn religious like George Bush, who get revelations from God to create mess in the world.

  15. hollarjayon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

If I had a pocket full of change- and took out a dime, can you REASONABLY assume the rest are dimes? Obama is a snake. You cant take a verse of the Bible out of context. The Bible is inerrantly true universally- Obama is the one not reading the Bible. He’s just looking for fault, not the UNIVERSAL truth. He is endorsing confusion and labeling it as tolerance. If you take the Bible as a whole- the sermon on the mount wouldnt contradict our defense dept. Why dont you read the Bible and see?

  16. Miskatakeableon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

Obama has already forgotten the Seperation Of Church & State, look at what the fuck he’s about to do

The Letter to the Church at Laodicea

Treaty of Tripoli – Article 11

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen

Half of the Founding Fathers were DEISTS

    Now go away dumb troll

  19. shrivakon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

    Umm, yeah it was!
Did you ever research the founding fathers and the making of the constitution?!
If your answer is yes, then you should know!

  20. TehJedicakeon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

America was NOT based on Christianity.

    Go away stupid troll

  21. shrivakon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

He’s a christian in name only!

  22. shrivakon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

I HAVE PROOF OF THAT TOO!!!!!!

  23. shrivakon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

AMERICA WAS BASED SOLELY ON CHRISTIANITY!!!

Obviously he is NOT christian! He doesn’t seem to get the bible at all!!
And if he’s bashing the bible, it’s obvious!

  24. ShinoCunningon 27 Feb 2010 at 9:23 am

I’m pretty sure that Obama is more Christian than the supposed Christians who condemn him for being tolerant of other beliefs.

He’s not siding with anyone. He’s simply speaking out against a potential theocracy.

ditto peacechild61 – another world class flaming asshole.
